Then there's the curfew. CURFEW?! It hits me in the face like a cold
shower. Such an unwelcome, jolting end. The ride is over and I can't get
back on. Time for Avalon to make its dance club costume change. At
first I'm dazed a little, looking around but not really seeing. Gradually
the room comes into focus and the animated chatter starts to make sense.
I find myself slowly walking and then it happens. The residual
afterglow seeps through my limbs, slithering into my inner recesses. My body
resonates in the aftermath of an evening like no other. I realize the
curfew's not so bad. Everything is as it should be. Aren't I lucky to have
ridden these particular peaks and plunges? The evening is cool and the
night is bright with possibility.
